The Information System for the Reporting of Foreigners (SIRE) is a digital platform managed by the Special Administrative Unit Migración Colombia. It lets individuals and companies meet their migration obligations to report foreigners they have a tie with or provide services to, including accommodation.

Foreign registration is regulated by:

According to current regulations, establishments must report:

Report the foreign guest's exit promptly, without delay.
Reports must be filed promptly and not late; failure to do so may result in penalties from Migración Colombia.
Penalties for not reporting or incorrect reporting include:
(approx. $5.2M to $131M COP in 2025) Financial penalty for not reporting or reporting late, under Resolution 3770 of 2021.
Penalties are imposed following an administrative sanctioning process by Migración Colombia.
Penalties may apply to both natural persons and legal entities.
