What is SIRE?

Information System for the Reporting of Foreigners

SIRE is the official system of Migración Colombia for reporting foreign guests in accommodation establishments. It is mandatory for hotels, hostels, tourist apartments, and other accommodation service providers that host foreigners in Colombia.

What is SIRE?

The Information System for the Reporting of Foreigners (SIRE) is a digital platform managed by the Special Administrative Unit Migración Colombia. It lets individuals and companies meet their migration obligations to report foreigners they have a tie with or provide services to, including accommodation.

Legal Framework

Legal Obligation

Foreign registration is regulated by:

Decree 1067 of 2015

Establishes the obligation to report to Migración Colombia the foreigners you have a tie with or provide services to, including accommodation.

Resolution 2357 of 2020

Regulates the procedures and obligations for reporting foreigners in the SIRE system.

Resolution 3770 of 2021

Defines the penalty regime: penalties for failing to report range from 105.25 to 2,631.30 UVT.

Reporting Deadlines

According to current regulations, establishments must report:

Reports must be filed promptly and not late; failure to do so may result in penalties from Migración Colombia.
