What is TRA?

Accommodation Tourism Registry

TRA is the mandatory report to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT) that all accommodation establishments in Colombia must submit to register occupancy and guest statistics.

What is TRA?

The Accommodation Tourism Registry (TRA) is a statistical reporting system managed by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia. Its goal is to collect data on hotel occupancy and the profile of guests visiting the country.

What is RNT?

Prerequisite

The National Tourism Registry (RNT) is the prerequisite for reporting to TRA. All tourism service providers must have an active RNT.

TRA reporting is regulated by:

Law 2068 of 2020

Article 22 - Establishes the obligation for accommodation service providers to maintain guest records.

Decree 229 of 2017

Regulates the National Tourism Registry and statistical reporting obligations.

Law 1558 of 2012

General Tourism Law establishing the framework of obligations for tourism service providers.

Reporting Deadlines

TRA has a strict monthly deadline:

Day 1-10

You must report all guests from the previous month before the 10th of each month

Day 11+

After the 10th, the report is considered late and may result in penalties

Example: January guests must be reported before February 10th.

Non-compliance may result in RNT suspension.
